Email Consumption

I am constantly checking my email.  I have more than four email accounts. Do not ask me why…😊.

There are three accounts that I go to daily, and it leads to toggling that borders on consuming.

Actually, it is consuming.

Note:  It would be two accounts if the service provider would merge my old one into the new one.

That is a whole story in of itself.

Note to self…never leave one letter off of your first or your last name if you intend to use one. or both, in your email address. Confusing to the sender, and you never know if you missed an important email that went to someone else with your complete last name, and/or complete first name.

As for checking emails, it is the momentum of when the news of the email reaches my eyes and then my brain that I get a dopamine rush that convinces me I am on top of my game.

Checking it occasionally is a better approach.

For a balanced effort, once in the morning and once in the afternoon.  That way, you have really conquered the habit…or the compulsion.

Nothing is earthshattering in an email that cannot be absorbed when you get to it during the day.

Give it a rest is my advice all around. It is amazing how quickly the mind is restored.

Now let’s see if I can apply that to my phone.
