Do you wonder what makes your home a place of rest? Do you want a home that is a pleasant place you can rest in no matter when you enter, or exit?
I ask then, what is the aroma in your home right now?
Is it an atmosphere that conjures up thoughts of evergreens, cinnamon, lavender, or the ocean?
You have the authority over how your home smells. Do you ever think about that? You can change the comfortability of your home simply by introducing the right aroma.
What is a right aroma? A right aroma is that which you find comfort in being in. It’s a smell that defines your life, defines where you are in life, defines where you want to be, and is a smell you can live with.
The beauty about creating an aroma in your home is that it can be changed.
You may even want to have different aromas in different rooms. That’s OK, right? Of course it is.
You may not have the highest quality of furniture. You may not be able to fill your cupboards with food from top shelf to bottom shelf, from freezer to refrigerator. But what you can probably do is pick up some air fresheners.
Air fresheners are a great way to beautify the atmosphere of your home. It changes the dynamic of your living environment; it improves your walk from room to room—- it can even uplift your spirits. A quality of life doesn’t depend on the chair you sit in, doesn’t depend on the brand of TV that you have in front you; it can simply be the atmosphere you fill your home with.
And not all air fresheners are the same. Some may be oil based, some plug in, some may be in a gel that you expose by twisting the cover up. Some may find that a spray refreshener works for them. Clearly not all are alike, but what you will find is there is a great many aromas to choose from.
So if you feel where you live is dull and boring, and you’re not feeling good when you awake and lie down, ask yourself simply, does it smell good in here? I think you will find that when you answer that question, honestly, you will see that there is a path, there is a way, to make your home a great smelling place.
Think about this. Taste is important, hearing is important, the sense of touch is important, and we are constantly satisfying those.
Do you realize that? You’re eating regularly so there’s your taste; you’re regularly hearing things; touch is a constant of our days — but are we stimulating smell?
Something to think about. Smell doesn’t get much attention unless it’s something which is odorous, which we’ve come into contact with.
So there you have it. Interject some nice smells into where you live. Smells you want to live with. And smells you can change.
They are your nostrils. Satisfy them. As you satisfy the tongue, as you satisfy the ear, as you satisfy touching and feeling. Satisfy smell in your home’s atmosphere with some aromas you enjoy—-you’re allowed. [/ihc-hide-content]
