So much in life we want to expedite. An appointment, a bill payment, a workday, a conflict. The only thing we don’t seem to want to rush is a vacation. But because we live in a world of 8 billion people and our lives are intertwined with people each and every day, and we are tied in to systems and bureaucracies in this world, bound to how fast they function when it comes to our personal dealings, not everything can happen in a moment.
But try as we might, we try to force something that is waiting on the next move of a system, external decision making entity, bureaucracy, or staff tied to a company.
It’s not our nature to wait. But wait we must do. What else is at our disposal during these times except for one great strength —– patience.
With patience, the situation doesn’t control us, we control the situation, knowing that it will get resolved. Not as quickly as our being wants it to get resolved, but it will get resolved.
So remember patience is at your disposal…a sound mind and a right mental state is power. Use it to your benefit to get through things and accept that which you can’t change. But rather, look forward to when change comes naturally and closure on your issue or situation works itself through all on its own, because, figuratively speaking, you took your hands off of it.
